If you are attending RWA, I hope you'll introduce yourself! I'm likely to be in the bar, with a Shiner and a large glass of water as I attempt to combat the humidity with additional liquid.
There are two events I'd like to tell you about, too!
First:
Wednesday 23 July, after the Literacy Signing: Stitching in the Bar!
At RT in New Orleans, Lynda aka FishWithSticks organized a very casual gathering of those of us who travel with crafty projects. We brought knitting, cross stitching, crochet, or whatever else, and sat in the bar together. It was lovely. I know a few folks are planning to stake out a good spot for stitching immediately after the signing. When I'm back from dinner, I plan to bring my cross stitching.
What I liked best about Lynda's idea was that it was really welcoming and very fun. And I got really good tips about how to make my cross stitch project (it's MAMMOTH and will take me years, I swear) more manageable. So if you're bringing your stitchery, I hope you'll hang out in the bar with everyone.
But wait - I have swag! By a minor miracle and a really good coupon for StickerMule, I have beautiful stickers of The Ladies:
The photo doesn't quite do them justice. They're really gorgeous; they almost glow, they're so lovely. StickerMule did a terrific job.

I'm presenting! Saturday afternoon! Bring a drink from the bar and join me. I'll be presenting a workshop on reviews, as it says in the title. I promise to have at least 1/3 of my voice left at that time. Really.
And lastly - the big event!
Saturday, 26 July, 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Central time: 2014 RITA & Golden Heart Awards Ceremony
As I did last year, I'll be live-blogging the RITAs using the software we use for the book club chat. I'll be transcribing as fast as I can, and will try to bring some of the fun of the RITA® and Golden Heart® awards ceremony to you wherever you are. You should definitely bring a drink and join the fun!
