Save the Date: CarrieS Is Guest at Convolution 2014

Last year I was invited to be a guest at Convolution, a mid-size fan-based science fiction and fantasy convention in the Bay Area (California). I had an amazing time - sat on panels, met Brian and Wendy Froud, and moderated a Q&A session with Wendy and Richard Pini. I was invited this year as a Featured Guest and we'll be doing a Smart Bitches, Trashy Books BoF. Convolution is Sept 26 - 28, 2014.

BoF stands for "Birds of a Feather" and is a casual hour or two in which people hang out and talk about something they have a mutal interest in - in this case, Smart Bitches, Trashy Books! I've also volunteered to be part of an insane number of discussion and event - I got a little hyperactive when it came suggesting panels. So I'll be doing all kinds of things and I'll be sure to post something here when my schedule is finalized.

The Date: September 26 - 28, 2014

Place: Hyatt Regency SFO, in Burlingame, CA

Marie Brennan, author of the wonderful Lady Trent series! Yes, I'm still freaking out!

Tanya Huff, author of fantasy and science ficiton books in almost every possbile sub-genre (mystery, humor, military SF, urban fabtasy, etc)

Kevin R. Grazier, PhD, science advisor on all kinds of shows. Finally I can get an answer to the question: "How come they ran out of food on Battlestar Galactica and had to eat alien algae but they never ran out of booze?

Tanya Gruen, actress, martial artist, and screenwriter - she's the toastmistress this year and she's a lot of fun.

I hope some of you form the USA West Coast can make it. I would love to meet more Smart Bitches readers and this convention is a lot of fun for avid readers and writers. See you there!
