Dad’s Day & 28 weeks

That last photo just gets me. I can’t imagine a better father for our girl. Owning his own retail shop does not allow for much off time, so sadly, he had to work on Father’s day. But we got to celebrate him last night. We went downtown for dinner and found this really cool spot with a great view of the city. My heart swells when I see the way he loves her. Rylee has been a daddy’s girl since the day she entered this world. During those first few months of life, Sam would wake up with her (and me) every time. He’d change diapers, feed her bottles when I was too tired to function…..he’d take her to run errands and sit with her for hours just to hear her giggle. He has always been so involved in the parenting process, and it’s never once felt like I’ve been alone in this. I am thankful everyday for that. And for his loyalty to me and desire to be the best father and husband he can be. I know Rylee will grow up feeling cherished by her daddy, and I know that will play a role in the rest of her life. In building her confidence and confirming her beauty and worth. He’s irreplaceable to us. And to think, we get to do this all over again with #2 in just a few short months. It’s terrifying and exciting all at the same time! :) But there’s no one else I’d rather have by my side.

Happy (slightly belated) Father’s day to all the great dad’s out there!
