My Best of Beauty 2012 - Lips & Eyes

I'm dragging this out one more post, apologies!

Some of my favourite lip products - top to bottom:

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stain in #9
- YSL's glossy stains have a very odd texture, that can take some getting used to. Even so, Their pigment and liquid latex-esque shine are pretty amazing for a gloss. The applicator is a pointed doe-foot, perfect for getting a precise lip.

YSL Rouge Volupté Lipstick in #17 - This blue-based lipstick is extremely pigmented and one of my go-to's for a red lip with some sheen.

MAC Matte Lipstick in Lady Danger - This colour was revealed as the shade used on Rick Owens' AW2012 runway (along with the Redd lipliner) and has become one of my most used colours this autumn. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and/or moisturized before putting this on, as the matte finish highlights any dryness on the lips.

Dior Addict Lipstick in 554 It Pink - This was my go-to shade for half the year. "It Pink" is a super wearable pink, perfect for day-to-day. This is a sheer formula lipstick, that deposits just enough colour. A lipliner is not necessary at all. I can't live without this stashed in my bag.

MAC Lip Pencil in Redd
- This is the lipliner that was used with MAC's Lady Danger on Rick's runway, but I also really like it just on its own for a simple defined matte lip.

Illamasqua Precision Ink Liquid Eyeliner in Havoc
- I love my liquid liners, and Illamasqua has some really unique colours and an excellent formula. Havoc is a reddish-eggplant colour which is surprisingly easy to wear.

Lancome Artliner - Before last year I don't think I had tried anything from Lancome, but their liquid eyeliner has become one of my favourites. It has a great felt brush tip applicator and stays jet black.

Maybelline Baby Lips - These look like they should be owned by a 14 year old girl, but Maybelline's Baby Lips are my favourite budget lip product this year. They are moisturizing and give a nice tint to the lips. I really like the red one (in the orange packaging) though I'm not fond of the scent. It is cherry scented, which reminds me of chapstick I had when I was younger. It leaves such a nice colour on my lips that I can forgive it for that.

Last but not least, my favourite makeup tutorial this year, and my most worn "look" complete with deep side part, is this one from Charlotte Tilbury on Lisa Eldridge's Youtube channel. Charlotte used this look on Kate Moss on the cover of the November issue of Vogue Paris. To me it's fascinating to see a professional makeup artist work and always results in great tips.
