I love this Lady Shirley cocktail recipe. It’s a sweet mix of bourbon, grenadine, and lemon juice. Anique Halliday’s recipe calls for good grenadine — she used one made by Employee’s Only. If you have access to it, get it! I had to settle for a generic grenadine which has a very jarring artificial red coloring.
P.S. You’re not going to judge me for using refrigerator-made ice are you?
For 1 cocktail (from Saveur):
Combine bourbon, grenadine and lemon juice in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour over ice-filled glass. Top with club soda; garnish with lemon peel.
