Mothering Sunday 2014

As I am actually in England at the moment, I was able to spend Mothering Sunday with my mother, for a change. I flew up to Gloucestershire on Sunday morning, roof down, Posetta Baddog co-piloting, to meet her, my sister and Billy the Whippet for lunch at The Fox at Oddington, a dog-friendly pub restaurant between Stow and Chipping Norton.

It’s been a family favourite for years, as much for the food as the dog policy, although it’s definitely more restaurant (think Farrow & Ball muted shades, and a proper menu, than Walkers crisps and a pint at the bar) than local.

Whilst lunch was delicious, most of all it was lovely to spend a day in the country with my family. We may fight continuously, but that’s not a reflection of the depth of our feelings for each other. I owe a huge thank you to my mama for all her support, as I continue to forge a somewhat (to her) inexplicable but successful career: I could not have done it without her.
