It’s time to tell you about my big hair secret. I’ve been seeing the girls at Evolve Hair Studio — “the Evolvers” — for over two years, and my hair has never looked better. Owners Jody and Sonia have been colouring and cutting my hair and I’ve been in a whip-my-hair-back-and-forth situation ever since my first appointment.

The Evolvers have launched a new exciting service: the DIY Hair Clinic ($65 to $375). Who hasn’t been disappointed every time they couldn’t achieve the same salon blowout at home? Evolve Hair Studio will provide you with tips and the tools to create the blowout or hairstyle of your dreams at home.

In each hair lesson, you are prescribed the appropriate KEVIN.MURPHY products in each step,
- Prime: shampoo and conditioner
- Prep: styling products
- Finish: finishing sprays and powders,
which honestly makes the world of difference when it comes to achieving the perfect blowout. My top hair concern has always been flat lifeless hair, and volumizing KEVIN.MURPHY products are the. best. I use PLUMPING.WASH shampoo and PLUMPING.RINSE conditioner, which actually makes my hair so thick to the touch. The BODY.MASS leave-in plumping treatment makes a great base for my hair before a blowout. I am obsessed!
In just a one hour lesson, I walked away with bouncy locks that I created on my own. Well, the bonus is that you get the hair wash and amazing head massage from one of the Evolvers, but everything else was all me! Colour me impressed. This is coming from the girl who spends 30 seconds on her hair every morning before work. Hair styling has always been a stressful aspect of my getting ready routine, but that’s no longer the case after getting a one-on-one lesson at Evolve!
My favourite tip from my lesson: blow dry your bangs / front layers first. This will make sure it falls the right way and prevents any cow licks!
