How to Wear Out a Four Year Old

We went to visit friends after swim practice today. We arrived around 11 and didn't leave until after 4! The boys and my girlies all play together so beautifully, leaving Karen and me to just sit...and be. It was delightful, hence our five hour plus visit.

Yesterday we decided the best way to cool off from the heat of the day (according to my car's thermometer it topped 100 out there this afternoon, and was almost as awful yesterday) would be to go to the pool. We spent an hour and a half there that morning and arrived yesterday right at the end of adult swim at 2:00. We left at the 3:45 adult swim, so, almost two more hours of time spent in the pool.

We got home, got cleaned up, and the girls and I decided to just sit and veg. In my house (if you're anyone but me), vegging means snuggling under a blanket. Yes, even in the dead of summer heat. I blame Brien.

So, there they were, all snuggled together, watching some Sick Science videos, and I looked over to see that.
Sunshine and chlorine will tucker you out.

As it was almost 6:00 and I really did want her to go to sleep that evening, I pulled her off Lil and tried to wake her up. She decided to just snuggle on me instead.

I forgot how soft and sweet her little face is, she's always so animated and moving.

And, that chin. I love that cleft.

Sweet baby Beanie...she's not a baby anymore.

She did go to sleep last night and slept like the dead until 7:15 this morning. :o) Lil? She was tuckered out too, but seeing as she's my child, if there's something playing on the TV, she's going to be watching it, even if it isn't something that interests her. Of all the things to pass along...:oS

She too went to sleep quite easily, and I had to awaken her this morning at 7:45 so we could race out the door by 8:00. Have I mentioned my love/hate relationship with swim team???

Sparklies:

1.
So, the dogs kept begging to go out last night. I let them out and they just stood on the deck. I glanced over and saw Bugs there, and decided I'd best get the poocheroos back in the house. I offered treats and they came bounding in like they never saw or smelled anything. I think maybe their sniffers are broken. Good thing for Peter Cottontail. ;o)

2.
"Will you pleeze to pet my tummy, hoomin? I promise not to bites."

I'm not silly enough to fall for that. :oP

3. I may not be crafting, but I am reading and it's lovely. It seems I can craft or I can read, but I can't do both. :sigh: Time...can somebody tell me how to add more time to my day?

4. Visiting with Karen and the boys today. This is why I'm friends with educators--summers off! And, you know, that common interests thing. ;o)

5. Breakfast for supper. Mm. Bikkies and bacon and eggs. :o)
