It Was Lovely

We had a delightful day. We really did. See? :o)

Seriously, though, there was a slightly shaky start to the day, but once we got rolling all was well and sparkly. I took close to 200 photos yesterday (do you remember when a roll of 36 exposures was something special and you would be so very careful with it and hoard it and save each exposure as something precious? 200 photos...and instantly viewable...man.) and still need to sort through, and I really don't want to post them all (YIKES!), but there are definitely photos I wish to share.

But, I'm tired and lazy this evening. I want to just sit and be...

So, I just have a couple of images to share for now and I'll fill you in on everything tomorrow or Tuesday (tomorrow's Lil's last meet of the season).

The waterlily seemed to be spent yesterday, but this wild morning glory decided to bloom for me instead.

As did the Mexican Sunflower--hooray for Mexican sunflowers, the flower the hummers, butterflies and gold finches alllllll love! :o)

We took the pixie boat over to Chippokes (my hubby is a ham, what can I say?).

Here ya go. My sweeties.

We spent the day at the Pork, Peanut and Pine festival (as Amy said, "HHD brought to you by the letter P." :oP) and enjoyed taking in everything.

The first thing we saw was the Teeny Tiny Farm and Miss Jadie Bug here in her tutu. Holy smokes. A Fancy Nancy piggie! :o) She is so teeny--use the guinea pig there in the background for reference--and sweet. We saw a bunch of other teeny tiny critters as well, but that's for tomorrow.

I was lamenting I'd seen so few butterflies and dragonflies until I walked by this lilac bush. I swear it's a lilac. It looks like a lilac, it smells like a lilac, therefore it must be a lilac, even if it is blooming in the middle of July. :oP

Boy howdy were there butterflies! Do you see the monarch?

We finished the day by releasing balloons over at GG and Bill's. They were able to go out on their balcony to watch and participate with us.

It was a beautiful day, spent with family and well wishes and prayers from friends all over the world. Thank you all for your kind words, and for continuing to remember my girlie, even after so many years. You are all such a blessing to me. :o)
