Halloween 2014

Happy Halloween!

Ellie has had quite the Halloween week. Bitty has too, but not in the same way Bean has. It started with Trunk-or-Treat Sunday, continued with a week of fun activities at school--who doesn't love pounding nails into a pumpkin??--and culminated with a costume parade Friday morning with trick-or-treating at local business, and trick-or-treating last night.

Lil's just a little jealous--sometimes it's hard to be the older sister. :oS

I love Bean's preschool SO much! I loved their parade and the kiddos and their costumes.

This little guy is a campfire!! How fun is that??

Ah, she saw me! :oP

Checking out her loot.

After school, we came home and the girls played outside for a bit before it was time to come in and get ready.
I did Lil's kitty face (may I just tell you how proficient I am becoming at doing kitty makeup? :oP) and then Bean. If I could please have my child's eyes and eyelashes that would be great.

Here ya go, mandatory photos on the front porch. :o)

We met in the cul-de-sac at 5:45 for photos with our friends and before we knew it, the girls were all ready to go. Yes, girls. We had no boys with us! I had to chuckle, as I watched our girls race around versus the mob of boys we had running towards us. There really was such a difference. :o) Not a bad difference, but a difference nonetheless. :oP

We started here and then they went racing off to the next house.

Elsa number 2 lost her wig. I was rather pleased Bean had only her own hair to deal with. ;o)

And, racing onward.

We pass this house (it's on the corner of the cross street to the cul-de-sac and our street (the main drag) on the way to and from the bus every day and the girls have been fascinated. You can't see the impaled zombie with the rotating foot or the coffin that bangs. :oP I confess, I'm relieved nobody was terrified or terrorized as they have been in years past.

There were thirteen adults accompanying all the girlies, so B and I felt little guilt in stopping to chat with neighbors and friends as the children raced on. Bean truly "got" trick-or-treating this year. And, I got smart and brought a bag for each of the girls to dump their heavy pumpkins. Those handles get rather hurty when they're extremely candy-laden.

I finished off the evening stopping to chat with Jenni and Mindy while B and Bean were up the street with Crystal and Brian (and Emily) and Lil ran on home.

That JA coupon? That's my treat. ;o)
When we walked in, I found Lil had already sorted her candy into her "keep" and "donate" piles. (Our church is doing a candy drive for the troops.) Please note there are quite a few Reese's this year. Last year my girls had one peanut butter product between them. We're all stoked there were more this year.

Here's Bean's pile. Holy smokes! That doesn't include what she got trunk-or-treating or during the parade. o.O

And, check this out! Yes, that's right, full-size candy bars!!

I'd call this Halloween a success. ;o)
