Christmas Prep Continues

You know, there's never really a good time of year to get sick, but I swear, this is NOT a good time to be ill.

I been chilled all day and have a headache, lightheadedness and a cough. I thought the chills were from my cool house (we keep it at 67 during the day in the winter) and the head issues related to the cough. Then, I took my temperature. I'm sitting at about 100.2. Oh boy. I'm one of those folks who are generally in the 97 range for "normal", so this is, in fact, a fever.

Great.

Because I don't need to make dinner and get cards in the mail (and finished, if I'm honest) and snowflakes starched and blocked and gifts wrapped and gifts purchased and and and...

Or, I can do as is apparently intended, and sit down and sit still and just be.

So I will.

I'll enjoy the lovely tree.

And the brown paper packages tied up in string (and ribbon).

And, I had Lil light the candles because I needed their warm glow.

And, really, just bask in this delightful little environment I've created for my family and me. :o)

In other news, I had to quickly starch and block a snowflake for Mrs. O yesterday, as it was Bean's last day before her break. I used hairspray! And, it worked!

I'm still in love with my little Jesse Tree ornaments I made last year. :o)

Yesterday was the Angel Gabriel.

Dessert is always so much fun this time of year. :o)

There's something so enjoyable about opening each tin to discover what is inside.

Bean watched the video Santa sent for her. It was personalized and everything (you too can do this right here).

A cardinal and a woodpecker were visiting the feeder today. I love my birdies!

I love my Bean and her fashion sense. I've informed her sandals are for spring and summer only. :oS

Holly wedged her way in next to B as he did his homework.

His masters work is going well, I'm just so ready for him to be done. He's working on his research proposal this course, and so far he's knocking it out of the park, which is a relief.

Little Finn-dog. I wonder what he saw...probably a squirrel. Look at those ears. :oP

Robin sent me this for my birthday. If you're familiar with the Price's Fork area of Virginia, you'll recognize this building. :o) It made me a bit verklempt.

And, finally, more lovely holiday decorations from CW.

*****ELF WATCH 2014*****

Those rascally elves! One night they're so helpful, retrieving ornaments, and the next night...

Getting into packages full of pressies I've not yet put under the tree. Seriously, Fisbee??
