My fascination with the white suit

Whenever I think of a white suit I automatically think of Bianca Jagger. Trust me, if you Google image search “Bianca Jagger”, countless photographs of her wearing a white suit will appear. Yeah, she was married to Mick Jagger, but Bianca is also known for her impeccable taste in clothes and is considered as one of the world’s top style icons. Which leads me to my fascination with the white suit - it’s so simple, yet has the ability to make a bold statement at any occasion. Heck, Bianca Jagger even wore a white Yves Saint Laurent dress suit to her wedding in 1971!

In 1934, Marlene Dietrich (a famous actress and singer) was photographed in a white suit smoking a cigarette (love how she accessorised it with a white hat and polka dot bow tie). Although this was (and still is sometimes) seen as very masculine, I think it made her look more feminine than ever.

The white suit still makes an appearance on the catwalks today. It’s an outfit that can be accessorised in so many different ways according to your personality, and we see that through well-known bloggers and street-style-stars. What are your thoughts on the white suit? I think I’m going to save up for one, as I’m convinced that it will never go out of style.
