Daniel Sandler Watercolour Fluid Blusher: Joy

Daniel Sandler’s Watercolour Fluid Blusher is one of those products everyone should own. It’s a cult classic, in fact it’s Daniel’s hero product and there isn’t anything else quite like it.

Dabbing a drop on each cheek before blending it in, gives a lovely, luminous glow to the complexion that doesn’t fade or budge and a little bit truly goes a long way.

The watery formula (which is silicone-free) contains Vitamin E and Jojoba to nourish and enhance skin, and is a welcome alternative to powder and cream. The blusher is also versatile enough to be blended with other shades as well as layered on for a more intense colour. Mama Shaikh who has terribly dry skin loves this.

So yeah, where was I? Oh right, Daniel’s new Watercolour Blush. It’s called Joy, it’s a girly pastel pink with a subtle shimmer and £5 from every bottle sold goes straight to Macmillan Cancer Support. When you think that a bottle costs £15.50, that’s almost a third going to a cause we all feel very strongly about.

Truthfully I steer clear of pastel pinks but Joy gives my skin tone a natural flush of colour, almost as if my cheeks have been pinched but in a nice way – not like when your aunty or uncle would pull too hard. I’ve also mixed Joy with my favourite Watercolour Fluid Blusher, Spicey which makes for a warm peach.

Any way, this is Joy on its own in natural daylight (before I went to work) and in artificial light (but without flash):

Crap. I look like a blow-fish. And I went a bit crazy with Joy in the second picture. (I was knackered, OK? And if you can get past the blow-fish thing then you’re very kind.)

Joy is limited edition – in fact only 300 bottles have been made so if you want to grab a one-off, you’d better get your skates on. I ordered mine directly from Daniel’s website www.danielsandler.com so perhaps that figure is closer to 299 instead.
