Holiday Wishes

Gearing down for a quiet Christmas here in Cammy-land, and I’m going to do my best to relax into it. If all works out well, weather-wise, I might even get to enjoy an outdoor walk on Christmas day.

The neighborhood Christmas party this past Sunday was my last non-family social event, and let’s just say I enjoyed myself immensely. It was a potluck event, as these things tend to be, and we had a lovely time visiting without rakes or brooms in our hands.

I took two dishes, Debby’s cranberry salad that I mentioned last week and Cranberry Walnut Truffles (via The Girl Who Ate Everything).

With pretzels, walnuts, and cranberries as the main ingredients, I was pretty sure I’d love these and I was right. The perfect combination of salty-sweet. Everyone at the potluck seemed to love them, too, which always makes me happy!

Fortunately, I’m holding my own with exercise so I don’t think I’ve done too much damage. And after today, I’m in charge of my menu again, so all will level out again. (Here’s hoping my turkey breast turns out okay. If not there’s a lot of tuna and lentils in my immediate future.)

I hope Santa is good to those of you expecting a visit and that you have a very happy holiday! (For those who don’t observe, hang on! The madness is almost over for another year!)
