Unveiled at an exclusive gathering on The Palm Jumeirah, the BlackBerry x Porsche Design P’9983 is the third model of the Canadian smartphone company’s partnership with the Saxon luxury label, and is the first QWERTY model to feature the BlackBerry OS 10 experience.

Aimed at power professionals looking for iconic luxury design, the P’9983 smartphone “integrates premium quality materials such as sapphire glass for the camera lens, forged stainless steel for the Porsche Design floating logo and chassis, and a special glass-weave technology for the back door. The specially crafted glass-like keys have the durability of rigid synthetic material, and a special 3D effect with silver font characters,” according to BlackBerry’s Chris Corsi, Country Manager for the UAE.

Consumer BlackBerry models may no longer have as much cache as they did locally in the past, but the region continues to be an important market for the company, “which is why we chose Dubai in the heart of the Middle East region to be the global launch event location,” Corsi explained.
