Julien MacDonald unveils Debenhams collection in Dubai
World-renowned British fashion designer Julien Macdonald stepped out to introduce his STAR by Julien Macdonald Autumn/Winter 2014/15 collection this weekend, to a fashion forward crowd at Debenhams, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai.
Now in its 22nd season, the collection – that falls under the aegis of Designers at Debenhams – has been a firm favourite of consumers internationally, since its launch in 2003. The fun-filled event commenced with a live mannequin show, as a flurry of international models surrounded the designer, while unsuspecting shoppers stopped to watch. A question & answer session in front of a large crowd of fashion fans followed, which saw Julien reveal style secrets and top tips for consumers, as well as details of the upcoming Debenhams Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi, which when open, will be the largest Debenhams internationally, second only to the flagship London store.
“The event was a huge success and it was a privilege to have Julien Macdonald with us to host this exciting evening at our Mall of the Emirates store,” said Pat Kelly, of Debenhams Middle East “Our Designers at Debenhams portfolio is a celebration of British fashion, showcasing the very best the UK has to offer.”
Julien, who has worked alongside fellow fashion greats Karl Lagerfeld and Alexander McQueen, and for brands such as Chanel, Lagerfeld and Givenchy, met and mingled with consumers, posing for photographs and offering fashion advice.
“It’s such an honour to be working with one of the United Kingdom’s best-loved department stores and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the Designers at Debenhams,” says Julien. “The fabulous ladies of Dubai love glamour and sophistication and that’s what my STAR label epitomises.”
