OPI How Great Is Your Dane?

OPI kills me with some of their polish names! This one happens to amuse me. Greatly.

Anyway. Back to serious nail polish business.

For fall 2014 OPI released their Nordic collection. OPI’s location based collections are always my favorites from them but the promo images for the Nordic collection didn’t excite me all that much. I picked up the mini set which includes My Dogsled is a Hybrid, Do You Have That Color in Stock-holm, My Voice is a Little Horse and How Great Is Your Dane?. The mini set provided a good variety of polishes to try and since I didn’t have my heart set on anything in particular I thought it’d be a good way to get a feel for the collection.

From OPI’s description of How Great is Your Dane? is seems this color was inspired by cinnamon coffee. How Great is Your Dane? is a creamy grayish brown. Brown is a huge color trend for this fall and winter but if you’re a bit unsure of wearing brown on your nails this is a great way to wear the trend. The gray undertones pull this away from an obvious brown to a chic, dark but not black manicure.

The formula is perfection; I used just two, easy coats in my swatches.

Leave it to OPI to take such an underwhelming color and turn it into a gorgeous nail polish. I was skeptical but How Great is Your Dane? has won me over!
