deborah lippmann – Autumn in New York

When I first saw the New York Marquee Collection by deborah lippmann, I was SO excited. The Art Deco inspired collection encompasses two of my big loves: New York City and shiny metallic nail polish.

Autumn in New York is a eye catching gold chrome polish. On the deborah lippmann website, it’s described as a gleaming gold glaze. I think I like their description better…

Now, Alli has been raving about the formula on these for weeks and the accolades are well deserved. The formula for the luxe chrome polishes…. It’s not only easy to apply, but nail imperfections aren’t as painfully obvious as with some other chrome polishes. It looks like I just poured the perfect amount of liquid gold on my nails. Or maybe had a chance encounter with King Midas..

Side note: This polish didn’t work particularly well with my base coat, so I applied it to my bare nail. I used two coats – make sure to leave a wee bit of dry time in between coats so it doesn’t drag. It puts other chrome finish polishes to shame. To extend the wear time, I topped it off with a top coat and I was on my way!

Be sure to check out Alli’s tips for applying metallic polishes she included with her review of I’ll Take Manhattan.

The New York Marquee Collection polishes retail for $20 each and are currently available at Sephora and on Amazon.
