mac huggable lipcolour

If you’re someone who doesn’t like the feel or application of lipstick but are looking for something a bit more pigmented than a lip balm, listen up!

New by M·A·C Cosmetics are the Huggable Lipcolours ($20), available in 12 shades, that offers beautiful shine without sacrificing color. The brand says the gel based formula provides a lasting, glossy finish that helps boost collagen, leaving lips smooth and sculpted. These glide on effortlessly and can build to provide more color (and are lightweight so it’s not overbearing on lips).

Promising six hours of wear, I’m excited to integrate these more into my makeup routine for those days where I don’t want to go all out on my makeup. I’d be fully surprised if it does last a full six hours but I’m guessing it’ll be more around three to four as it’s not fully a lipstick. Unlike Sheen Supremes – also by MAC -these are creamier and glossier.

Colors above are listed below (clockwise)

  • Rusty: described as a deep auburn. It’s a dark, warm red that’s more on the brown side. Don’t let the word dark detract you. It’s not goth nor vamp – it’s a beautiful shade against dark skin.
  • Feeling Amorous? is described as a mid-tone fuchsia so you know I was in there. It’s not a bright fuchsia so if you’re looking for something that goes POW! this might not be it. It is a nice cool tone shade that makes fuchsia more wearable for day time.
  • Out For Passion is described as a light warm rose. It didn’t do much for me because the pigment didn’t come through my naturally dark lips. It’s a whisper of a pink and a great every day color.
  • Love Beam is described as a mid-tone warm pink. Probably the brightest shade I own from this collection and gives off a semi-opaque coverage that’s quite buildable. I love it and would recommend it to everyone.

These are available now and are limited edition to check ‘em out!
