| Holiday hot chocolate

Christmas is always the best time of the year to spend quality time with family and friends. Family reunions wouldn't be the same without the food and the traditional sweet treats of the season. Today I'm bringing an easy recipe, found it in the Christmas issue of RUE magazine, to make a cup of hot chocolate with a special Holiday touch. This recipe can be perfect for a cold afternoon catching up with your loved ones around the fire place.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 12 onces bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 4 cups eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • whipped cream
  • nutmeg

Directions
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate into milk over low heat. Remove from heat and let stand for 2-3 minutes. Then, whisk until smooth.
  2. Stir in the eggnog. Warm over low heat. Don't let it reach a boil.
  3. Once fully warmed, remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
  4. For an added kick, add 1/4 cup coffee flavored liquor.
  5. Pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

  2. Después, remover bien hasta que quede uniforme.
