They Wanna Make It In The Neighborhood

Last week, my girl Erica and I flew to California for a super fun styling project. Beautiful weather, talented music artists and tons of creative energy. We got to hit up some of LA’s coolest landmarks and road trip to Vegas while on the job! Not too shabby…

I grew up in Orange County but have somehow never been to this viewing point across from the famous “Hollywood” sign. I always get a kind of crazy feeling being high up, looking down at a massive metropolitan area – whether it be Twin Peaks in San Francisco, a skyscraper in Manhattan, or this very spot. For whatever reason, views like these tend to get my mind spinning — like a little adrenaline rush and some sense of empowerment. A simple reminder that anything is possible, and you never know what tomorrow might bring.

I must say, I am feeling really happy about the career changes I decided to make at the end of last year. It has been by no means easy to walk away from the comfort of a full-time office role and enter the unpredictable world of freelance styling and digital media consulting. But, if there is one thing I have learned since moving to New York (which I can only describe as the wildest roller coaster ride ever), it’s that taking risks is crucial to learning who you are, who you want to be, and ultimately living an exciting and fulfilling life.
