Scenes from (Skyler’s 1st) Thanksgiving

We start the advent calendar this morning, but before we deck the halls and trim that tree, a few favorite photos from the holiday weekend and Skyler’s first Thanksgiving.

Later today: the first of this week’s holiday gift guides. (They’ll be posted each day this week, in the afternoon.)

Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Hudson remarked: “those are pretty guys! I like their hats!” and went for a closer look.

Meanwhile, Skyler got moving.

Hudson helped me pick persimmons for the table.

Kids played games at the table. And so did the adults.

Ginko leaves made such a pretty sight in the UC Davis arboretum. (We made it there after cleaning up after a very sick dog. Poor Sawyer got ahold of too may leftovers, it would seem.)

Before the rain came, we hung lights and watched Frozen.

And Skyler discovered that she loves Satsuma mandarins as much as the rest of us, up at Miller’s grove on our annual visit.

And so it begins! I’m ready to ring in the holidays! You?

What are you most looking forward to this season?
