Never Smile at a Crocodile

Since the winter months are upon all of us in the Southern Hemisphere I thought it would be apt to feature the 2014 winter collection of Australian fashion label Gorman.

“In 1999, Lisa Gorman launched her eponymous label at fledgling boutique fat52 in Fitzroy, Melbourne, with a collection titled ‘less than 12 degrees’. The instant success of that first offering was the beginning of something special, and in the years that have followed the gorman label has become an iconic part of the Australian fashion landscape.”

The 2013 winter collection, titled Never Smile at a Crocodile, uses bold prints staying true to the label’s signature aesthetic. The monochromatic cactus print dress and cheer squad coat are two of my favourites.
