Trina Turk and Mr. Turk held another fantastic NYFW collection, and this time, the Californian Trina Turk girl and guy drove along Sunset Blvd, from Silverlake to the ocean. The Socal vibe of the collection made me miss LA so much!

To celebrate the show and the brand’s first foray into footwear and jewelry, Blair hosted a get-together with Trina and Jonathan at the Terrace at the Gramercy Park Hotel. I was lucky enough to pick out Mr. Turk ss14 to wear, and it came as a shock to many that I chose such a colorful piece. Why, you ask? The shirt reminded me of the Southwest, the colors of the sunset and made me happy. Gut check. I then shared with Jonathan that I typically don’t wear color, and he tweeted, “Try something new everyday and life will never get boring.”

After drinks, I heard that the Bowery mural space had changed with a new work up by Brooklyn-based muralist Maya Hayuk. I couldn’t have picked out a better shirt, or work of art as a background – both reflections of how I’ve been feeling as of late.

Congratulations again Trina and Jonathan!
