Enkele maanden geleden ontving ik het White@Home pakket. Wittere tanden? Graag! Maar er was één probleem: je mocht niet aan de koffie of thee gedurende enkele dagen. En mijn dagelijks kopje thee is heilig. Dus zocht ik een vrijwilliger voor deze bleaching-kit uit te proberen. Dat werd Steffi van Beauty Treasures. En haar review lees je hieronder.

Several months ago I received a White@Home package. Whiter teeth? Yes please! But there was one problem: you were not allowed to drink coffee or tea for a few days. And my daily cup of tea is sacred. So I went looking for a volunteer to test out this bleaching kit. Enter Steffi (Beauty Treasures). You can read her review below.

Het stond al enige tijd hoog genoteerd op mijn wish list: een mond vol hagelwitte tanden. Professioneel je tanden laten bleachen kost behoorlijk wat geld. En laat nu net dát hetgeen zijn wat ik liefst zoveel mogelijk in de pocket wil houden (met ons huisje in het vooruitzicht!). Dankzij Beauty Statement kreeg ik de mogelijkheid om White@Home uit te proberen.

It was ranked high on my wish list: a mouth full of pearly white teeth. Professionally bleaching your teeth costs a lot of money. And that last word is exactly what I want to keep in my wallet as much as possible (new home!). Thanks to Beauty Statement I got the opportunity to give the White@Home kit a try.

White@Home is een bleaching kit voor thuisgebruik. Het merk belooft je, dat je na drie behandelingen, zichtbaar wittere tanden hebt. Nice! Na de instructies grondig gelezen te hebben ging ik aan de slag met de inhoud. In de kit zit een LED lamp, een mondstuk, reinigingsdoekjes voor de tanden, een spray en bleaching gel. Dankzij de duidelijke instructies is de kans klein dat er iets mis gaat. Standaard zit er bij de kit ook een kaart, waarbij je kan matchen welke tint met jouw tanden overeenkomt voor en na de behandeling. Helaas zijn de kleuren niet realistisch, sommige tinten neigen richting het roze!?

White@Home is a bleaching kit for home use. The brand promises you get visibly whiter teeth after three treatments. Nice! After carefully reading the instructions, I started using the content of the package. The kit contains a LED lamp, a mouthpiece, cleaning wipes for your teeth, bleaching gel and a spray. Thanks to the clear instructions, there is little chance that something goes wrong. By default, there is also a card inside the kit, which matches the color of your teeth before and after the treatment. Unfortunately, the colours are not realistic; some shades tend towards a pink variant!?

Wat vond ik ervan? Mijn verwachtingen waren groot, misschien te groot. Het effect is heel natuurlijk. Ik zou durven zeggen dat ik één à twee tinten lichter gegaan ben. Op het eerste zicht merk en zie ik weinig verschil. Enkel aan de hand van de voor -en na-foto valt het mij op. Hoe geler/grijzer de tanden zijn, hoe groter het effect zal zijn. Ik zou deze kit het best omschrijven als een opfrisbeurt voor de tanden. Wat mij opviel was dat één spuit bleaching gel (te) veel product bevat om in één keer te gebruiken. Tijdens de eerste sessie tintelende het even, maar het gevoel kan ik niet als onaangenaam beschrijven. De smaak is oké en gelijkaardig aan tandpasta.

My opinion? My expectations were high, maybe too high. The effect is very natural. I would dare to say that my teeth went one to two shades lighter. At first sight, I see little difference. Only when I take a look at the pre-and post-photos, the difference strikes me. The more yellow/grayer your teeth are, the greater the effect will be. I would recommend this kit as a refreshening for the teeth. What struck me was that one syringe of bleaching gel contains too much product to use at once. During the first session, I felt a little tingling, but I can not describe the feeling as unpleasant. The taste is okay, and similar to toothpaste.

Persoonlijk vind ik dat het effect intenser had mogen zijn en bijgevolg zijn niet alle verwachtingen volledig ingelost. Dit effect kan je echter niet evenaren met een whitening tandpasta.

Personally, I believe the effect should have been more intense, and therefore it did not met all my expectations. But I must admit: a whitening toothpaste can not compete with this effect.
