On the Fringe

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed Labor Day weekend. I can’t believe it’s September already. Seriously, where did the year go? It kinda just flew by in a blur. I was looking back at some of my old 12 Days of Holiday Party Outfit posts from November and December because I’m considering doing another holiday look book this season, and OMG! It sure doesn’t feel like that was 10 months ago. I swear the older I get, the faster the years go by. I remember the school year feeling SOOOO long, now a year goes by in a snap!

Anyway, let me not get too far ahead of myself. Lol! My holiday weekend was awesome. My cousin, Andrea, came into town from California to visit…something I’ve been looking forward to for months now! Besides my mom and my sister, she’s pretty much the first person that has come to visit me since I move to Atlanta. I pretty much only see my family when I go to California, and I miss them soooooo much. My cousin is actually still here. She doesn’t leave ’til tomorrow, and I have a feeling she’ll be back sooner rather than later. She had such a good time and she just kept saying “I love Atlanta! I don’t want to leave.” I told her she needs go on ‘head and move, then! Lol.

So, I’m totally an old lady. Atlanta’s night life is aaaaalways poppin, and between Labor Day, pride weekend, and Dragon Con, there was a LOT going on this weekend. But, I neeeeeever go out. I had no idea where to take my cousin….and I’m not really a stand in line at the most popular club in the city kinda gal. Even when I was a club hopper back in LA, me and my friends knew all the promoters with the VIP hookups, and I got spoiled. Lol!!! Fortunately, Andrea was cool with not going out. Instead, we visited a few touristy spots and got our eat on! She wanted to go to spots that she could only go to in Atlanta. One of the places I took her was Fellini’s pizza! It’s definitely one of my fave pizza spots in Atlanta…and it’s one of the popular late night, after-club spots…but, like I said…I’m old, so we went in the middle of the day. Lol!!! The location we went to on Howell Mill Rd. has some really great art on the walls that Toshe got some cool shots of.

About the outfit…it was pretty hot this weekend, but I’m clearly ready for fall. I couldn’t resist wearing this open-weave sweater. It’s been my go-to lately…it’s gray so it goes with everything, and I just really love the slouchy fit! I also really love the look of sweaters and sweatshirts with cutoff shorts… it’s definitely the Cali girl in me, but the look is harder to pull off in hot-a** Atlanta. Lol!!! Buuuuuut you know, when it comes to fashion, I’m stubborn so I rock it anyway. This sweater’s open weave makes it doable. Anyway, enough about the sweater…obviously, this outfit is all about THE SHOES!!! This is yet another pair of shoes that I bought from JustFab at least a month ago, and just wore them for the first time this weekend. I’m slippin! The good news is they are still available, but the bad news is they are only available in black. The blue is sold out in all sizes. I know…sorry!!! But, the black is still SUPER cute, and actually I know some of you may prefer black so if you’re interested, definitely check them out soon before they sell out, too.

What I’m Wearing: Mossimo Sweater (similar) // DIY Cutoff Shorts (similar) // JustFab “Kora” Sandals // The Sak Crossbody Bag (similar) // Maybelline “Electric Orange” Lipstick

What did you do this weekend?
