Alright y’all, inquiring minds wanna know, how do you feel about tall open toe boots? Over the years, I think we’ve all accepted open-toe booties as totally normal, but for some reason a tall open-toe boot feels a little different. That’s not to say that I don’t love the look…quite the opposite, actually. I was all over the tall open-toe leather boots shown at Hervé Léger’s Fall 2014 runway show. They added a really cool and edgy vibe to Hervé’s signature body-skimming silhouettes. But, is this one of those trends that only works on the runways and red carpets? I have so many questions — will my toes be cold? Will the rest of my foot be sweaty? What kind of socks do I wear? Do they make toe-less socks (they do!). I mean, can I really make these work work in Atlanta’s relatively cold winter? (All you northerners and east coasters…I’m from CA, so yes! Atlanta’s winter is COLD to me!).
So this morning, I was browsing ShoeDazzle’s new arrivals, and there they were — a super cute pair of bordeaux open-toe over-the-knee boots from the GX by Gwen Stefani. Oh mama!! I want them. The color, the “X” applique detail on the shaft, the quilted detail on the heel…sooooo cute! And, under $100.
