Physician’s Formula Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer!

Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer ($14.99) by Physicians Formula contains a blend of nourishing vitamins, moisturizers and anti-oxidants to create a healthy sun-kissed glow. It is supposed to act like a BB cream in that it is moisturizing, smoothing, brightening and line softening. It also has an SPF of 20–yay!

This is a matte bronzer which I prefer for a more natural look. I tried the medium to dark shade and was sure I would end up looking muddy–so not the case! It actually works very well for my fair skin when applied with a big fluffy brush like IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Brush or the super soft Jumbo Powder Brush. The texture of the powder is so smooth that I can actually skip foundation and just wear this instead on busy summer mornings. The little pink dot in the center I assume is for brightening but personally, I don’t think it’s enough to achieve much of a glow.

Physician’s Formula are famous for their bronzers with good reason: the powder has a beautiful texture; not too hard to pick up on a brush and too soft so that it kicks up powder and makes a mess. It is packaged in a thick round compact with a full-sized mirror and a lower compartment that houses a brush. The size and heft to the compact may irritate some and truthfully, the brush is of no use. In my opinion, Physician’s Formula should ditch the brush thereby making the compact thinner and lighter–just a suggestion PF.

While I prefer a liquid foundation at my age, I actually like using a powder bronzer versus a liquid one. Liquid bronzers or self-tanners for the face tend to cling to the brown, sun-damaged spot on my face making them noticeably darker. This bronzer provides a nice, easy and natural sun-kissed look. Add a bit of cream blush and a dab of gloss and you’ll look like you have been vacationing on a tropical island!

Bottom Line: Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer provides a beautiful tanned look at a fraction of department store brands. Use it for contouring too!
