Whenever Stew and I hit the road to visit a new National Park I always make sure I am appropriately packed for the day’s activities. I personally like to pack lightly but always include these necessities:
, which filters reflective glare, especially when he is out fishing . The water can reflect 100% of the UV rays back up towards him. I tend to lean more towards fashion
sunglasses
but I make sure that they are 100% UV coated to thoroughly protect my eyes.
Lightweight Camera: I use the Panasonic Lumix GF3
and it fits so easily into my bag.
Intak Reusable Water Bottle
: I actually use this on a daily basis because of the spill proof lids.
iPhone: Google Maps, Restaurant Recommendations, etc National Park Passport Book: I like to keep track of were I have been by stamping this book at each location we travel. Passport to Your National Park Companion Guide: I have been mostly using the North Atlantic Region
Guide for our recent travels. This book is a printed version of most the info you can find at
nps.gov but I find it more concise and to the point for the type of info I am looking for.
