Oklahoma Travel Diary

In some ways the last 4 weeks have flown by, and in other ways it has been the longest 4 weeks of my life. Logan turned 4 weeks old yesterday and we are still here in Oklahoma. If all goes according to plan we will all be home back in Massachusetts within the week.

To say that our time here has been a roller coaster of emotions would be putting it lightly but I just don’t know how else to explain it. We have amazing friends and family who have flown out to visit us here and meet Logan, face-timed with us nearly everyday, mailed care packages, and sent the sweetest emails and texts. These are the moments that have kept us strong and optimistic about our families future.

Over the last few weeks we have explored and traveled throughout the state of Oklahoma as to not go stir crazy sitting in a hotel room so I thought I would share some of those travel dairies here with you on the blog. We have probably visited more museums, parks, and tourist attractions them most Oklahomans that we could write a tour guide to Oklahoma City.

One of our first days here (thinking we would only be here a week) we wanted to fit in the MUST SEE places. The top of our list was the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.

We have actually visited this memorial 3 times over the last month. These photos are from our first visit but we also stopped by it twice at night to see it illuminated and to show my parents and my sister the site when they flew out to visit.

The memorial is just simply stunning - from he reflecting pool, to the glass chairs for each victim, to the attention to detail, to the peacefulness you feel when you visit - it is one of the most well done memorials I have ever visited. The museum is also very well curated and worth touring.

Stay tuned for more OK travel posts and some Park Ranger Amy posts on the 2 National Parks we discovered here in Oklahoma!
