Living unexpectedly out of a suitcase for 5 weeks, 1,700 miles from home, with only what I packed for a 10 day trip was an eye opening experience for me.
I had just the essentials with me:
Oh, and I did pick up a few new items while I was out there like an Oklahoma University Hoodie, a few pieces from the Phillip Lim for Target Collection, and a necklace from an arts festival we went to.
The eye opening part? I survived without the 100 items of clothes, jewelry, accessories, makeup and shoes sitting here in my closet at home.
I think I have realized that I own too much… I need to slow down on picking up new items for my closet and focus more on curating a wardrobe that I am happy with. I want a wardrobe that is lighter on my wallet and one that makes it easier to get dressed in the morning!
I know this isn’t a new concept and that many bloggers dedicate all of their content to this exact topic, but for me, it is a revelation. It is something that goes beyond just my closet and stretches into all aspects of my life. I am ready to streamline my home, my daily schedule, and of course, my closet.
Wish me luck!
