MAC Frozen Violet & Vintage Selection Pro Longwear Paint Pot: Review, Swatches, Photos
On February 7th, MAC launched a permanent line of pro longwear paint pots. Paint Pots aren’t new to the MAC line up but, pro long-wearing formulas are. These new PLW paint pot are the same size as the regular ones and retail for $18.50. All of the PLW paint pots in this collection, were once limited edition regular paint pots so, if the names sound familiar, it’s because these are re-releases with a new formula.

MAC Frozen Violet Pro Longwear Paint Pot ($18.50 for 0.17 oz.) is described as a “frosted purple silver”. When I first swatched this color my first thought was this color looks more brown than silver. It applied evenly but is sheer and requires a couple of layers to get the color saturation you may desire. The silver sparkle mixed in was a hint of a nuisance, the shimmer seemed to stray away from the eye area after blending. This paint pot wore for about 10 hours without creasing or fading.
** MAC Vintage Selection Pro Longwear Paint Pot ($18.50 for 0.17 oz.) is described as a “frosted dirty peach”. This frosted champagne color is ideal for neutral looks. It performs well, is nicely pigmented and blends seamlessly. It applied evenly and is semi-opaque. This paint pot wore for about 12 hours without creasing or fading.
Overall, these paint pots are just average. Looking at the ingredient list there is only one that makes these different from the regular paint pots. I strongly suggest that if you missed out on these when they were limited to pick them up but, other than that they are regular paint pots with the same great use.
