Nail Polish Battle: Essie Sunday Funday vs. Cute As A Button and Essie After School Boy Blazer vs. OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...

I have a Nail Polish Battle post for you guys today and I actually, once again, have two battle pairs to share with you guys. In the first battle you're going to see two quite pretty Essie coral reds fight each other and the second battle is between two dark blue ones also from Essie and OPI. But without further ado, let's start those battles!
First battle pair is Essie Sunday Funday vs. Essie Cute As A Button!

As you can see here, these two are quite similar, but there are still some differences. Cute As A Button is a creme whereas Sunday Funday has some shimmer in it. The shimmer is more visible in the bottle than on nail, but you can still see a bit of it on nail too. Cute As A Button is also a tad cooler toned compared to Sunday Funday. The color difference isn't really big, but it's still noticable.
Both of these have quite similar formula and they cover pretty well with two coats, though you might need a third coat for longer nails or if you have a highly visible nail line. I don't really think that you'll need both of these as they are so similar, so it pretty much comes down to the question if you like that subtle shimmer or not and also maybe, if you like the slightly cooler or warmer toned color.
Final verdict: I prefer the slightly warmer toned color of Sunday Funday and the shimmer also really wins it for me, so Sunday Funday stays and Cute As A Button has to go.

Second battle pair is Essie After School Boy Blazer vs. OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw!

The difference between these two is already visible judging only from the bottles, but I still wanted to pair these two as I feel like I'm not going to need two dark blue lacquers and I wanted to see which one I would keep. OPI's name monster Warsaw is clearly lighter whereas Essie's School Boy looks almost like black. Both of these dry a bit darker than they look in the bottle, which is a bit shame if you ask me. I'd say the color of After School Boy Blazer would be just perfect for me, if it looked as it looks in the bottle. Now Warsaw is just a bit too light and School Boy too dark.
The Essie one is really pigmented, so it's pretty much a one coater, OPI one need two coats for full coverage. I also prefer the wide Essie brush over the OPI brush. I do have OPI's Dating a Royal also, which is more lighter dark blue than these two. So eventhough I have always said that I don't like polishes that look black, I think I could have more use for the Essie one (it works well for water marbling for example!). Also, I just hate the name of that Warsaw polish so much, it's just so stupid!

Final verdict: I'm keeping After School Boy Blazer and the polish with the awful name gets to go.

Essien Cute As A Button ja Sunday Funday ovat hyvin lähellä toisiaan, sävyeroa on vain hieman Cute As A Buttonin ollessa aavistuksen kylmempi Sunday Fundayhin verrattuna. Sunday Fundayssa on myös hienoista shimmeriä lakan joukossa Cuten ollessa ihan tavallinen creme. Molemmat peittävät kohtuullisesti kahdella kerroksella, pidempiin kynsiin kolmekin voi olla tarpeen. Näistä oma suosikkini on ehdottomasti Sunday Funday, koska sävy on enemmän mieleeni ja tietysti tykkään myös tuosta hienoisesta shimmeristä.
Tummansininen parissa lakat ovat selkeästi eri sävyisiä Essien After School Boy Blazerin näyttäessä lähes mustalta ja OPIn Warsawn ollessa selkeästi taistelupariaan vaaleampi. Essie peittää yhdellä kerroksella, OPIa tarvitsee kaksi. Minulta löytyy jo myös OPIn Dating a Royal, joka on selkeästi hieman vaaleampi tummansininen kuin Warsaw, joten tämän taisteluparin väliltä valinta osuu nyt Essien lakkaan, sillä aavistelen minulla olevan sille hieman enemmän käyttöä (se todistetusti toimii mainiosti esim. vesimarmoroinnissa). Essien suti on myös enemmän mieleeni kuin OPIn ja lisäksi en vain pääse yli Warsaw -lakan nimihirviöstä. Se on aivan karsea, jos minulta kysytään!
