Despite wildfire exploitation, the bohemian "rive gauche" of Rome still retains some of its ancient charm. Food-wise, Trastevere offers tiny osterias tucked in cobbled streets, established seafood shrines, lesser known pastry shops, and local hangouts only insiders know to put on their maps.
