| Sewing | Prefontaine Shorts

So, I made another pair of shorts! I wanted something that would be good for the beach and other super chilled out pursuits and the Prefontaine Shorts pattern from Made with Moxie ticked all the boxes.

The Prefontaine Shorts are named after the legendary American long distance runner Steve Prefontaine who held every national record between 2,000 and 10,000 meters. Sadly, he died in a car accident after leaving a party. He was just 24.

The shorts have the vibe of running shorts from the 70's and feature a neat contrast trim, flat front pockets and a comfy elasticated waist.

They were fun and easy to make but posed enough of a challenge for me to pick up a few new skills and add a new way of making pockets to my repertoire. Score!

I used a mere meter of double gauze from Nani Iro in a brighter colour way that than I used HERE. Double gauze was such a good idea for beach shorts - they are so light, airy and can be worn over a bikini. I did cheat on the bias tape and opted to use shop bought stuff instead of making it myself.

It's a pity that summer is edging away. I wanted to wear them over and over again.
