Cruelty Free Alternatives to Bath and Body Works

After receiving the upsetting news that Bath and Body Works is no longer cruelty free, I wanted to provide you with some cruelty free alternatives to Bath and Body Works. You can always check out Leaping Bunny’s extensive list of bath brands. Be sure to visit my friends’ blogs, Logical Harmony, My Beauty Bunny, and Vegan Beauty Review for more cruelty free goodness.

I can only surmise that with Bath & Body Works changing their policy from cruelty free to ‘except in rare cases when required by government regulations’ that B&BW is planning on doing what Victoria’s Secret did, and expanding into China.

Here’s the Bath & Body Works Animal Testing Policy (which is still on their site by the way)

Sadly, here’s what I received in email from B&BW
L Brands policy prohibits the testing of our branded products, formulations and ingredients on animals except in rare cases when required by government regulations. Through our involvement in the Institute For In Vitro Sciences, we are supporting research to develop additional non-animal alternative methods which we believe will ultimately result in the elimination of animal testing worldwide.

Here’s what L Brands (parent company of B&BW) sent me
Thank you for reaching out to us. Despite the recent report on Logical Harmony, we have not changed our policy. Bath & Body Works policy has been and continues to be that we prohibit the testing of our branded products, formulations and ingredients on animals except in rare cases when required by government regulations. Bath & Body Works products are not sold in countries where testing is mandatory; therefore we are not testing on animals. I hope this is helpful. Thank you.

The Body Shop (Leaping Bunny Certified)
They make shower gels and creams, bar soaps, scrubs and exfoliants, bubble baths, soaks, body mists, perfumes, body butter, lotions, oils, the list goes on. They also make skincare and makeup. They even started selling nail polish recently!

And of course, no bath and body list is ever complete without Lush!

Lush
Lush makes bath bombs, bubble bars, bath melts, soap, shower gels, scrubs, shampoos, conditioners, hair treatments, cleansers, moisturizers, masks, lip balms, body lotions, body butters, deodorants, perfume, and makeup.

Their Halloween collection is pretty cool, especially the Northern Lights bath bomb.
