#spon Garnier Color Styler Pink Pop

Brought to you by Garnier. All opinions are honest and my own.

Today I’m going to share my experience coloring my purple hair with Garnier Color Styler Pink Pop. The Garnier Color Styler line is a line of temporary hair color that washes out in just a few washes. . This is a damage-free hair product that adds color to your hair by creating a thin coating of color around the hair strands rather than penetrating the hair. This can (and in my case did) add texture to your hair, which I personally love. I want all the volume I can get!

There are 5 shades available – Pink Pop, Blue Burst, Purple Mania, Bronze Attitude, and Red Temptation. I received Pink Pop and Blue Burst for experimentation.

After carefully reading the directions, I started by putting on my gloves and shaking the bottle of Pink Pop. I did NOT put on my dye cape or a dye shirt, which I do recommend if you’re not used to coloring your hair.

I sectioned off my hair so that I could apply the color to a small lock framing my face. My hair is a deep, bright blue-toned purple that fades into a pinky-purple at the bottom. I chose Pink Pop to use as an accent because I think it will work well with my current color.

The directions recommend that after you shake up the dye, you apply a few drops (like 3 or 4) to your gloves. Then rub your gloves together before you apply the color to your hair.

The reason you want to start with a few drops and work it in is that this isn’t really a dye, per se. It’s not soaking into your hair. It’s forming a barrier around your hair.

You can wait for the dye to air dry or your can blow dry on low to speed up the process. I recommend using the blow dryer.

After it’s dry, you’ll want to brush it completely. Brushing helps set the product. If you want a darker, more intense color you can repeat the entire process again.

For me, the color turned out perfectly. Pink Pop on my purple hair matches the bottom part of my hair.

I found this product surprisingly easy to use. It’s much easier than hair chalk that I’ve tried in the past. It was also way less messy. By using the less is more approach with the color and working it in slowly, I didn’t drip color anywhere, it clung to my gloves and hair. I like the extra volume that the coating gave my hair, since I always crave volume with my hair.

I think this is an ideal product for people who work at a job where they can’t have fun colored hair, so they want to have it for the weekend. If you’re looking on ways to fade it after use, using a dandruff shampoo or clarifying shampoo should help. You can also try adding a shine serum or oil to help break down the color.
