Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Skin Conceal Review

I have a confession. I love the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Skin Conceal and I have loved it for almost a year, but it’s taken me far too long to write this review! Skin Conceal comes in 12 shades. The 3 I use the most are R0, Y0 and Y1. If you’ve ever watched any of my Youtube tutorials, I’m sure you’ve seen me using Skin Conceal.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (fondly known as OCC) is proudly cruelty free and vegan.

First up, let’s talk about the formula. It contains aloe leaf extract, cocoa extract and Vitamin E, all of which are good for the skin. If you avoid silicones, you will want to check out Skin Conceal because it’s silicone free. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin or cause me to break out.

This concealer comes in 12 shades from light to dark, so I think it will work for a wide variety of skintones. Plus you can mix two shades together to customize a shade if you need to.

OCC Skin Conceal has a creamy formula that is very emollient, spreads well and is easy to blend down. It’s also quite pigmented. Because of that creaminess, you MUST set this concealer. I set it with e.l.f. HD Undereye Setting Powder, NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder, or Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Powder. But back to the formula, it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing heavy concealer that’s going to cake up on you. This is awesome from my point of view.

In addition to working well as a concealer, I’ve used this with two shades mixed together as a full coverage foundation on my face. I usually will mix Y1 and Y0 together. I like to use R0 under my eyes in the magical triangle (see my concealing tutorial) to brighten my face. R1 could be used to contour on my face, theoretically, though I prefer OCC Crème Colour Concentrate in John Doe to contour (see it here).

My recommendation, if you are going to be using this over a large area of your face, is to tap it on with your finger tip and then set it with a setting powder. You can also dot this on under your eyes and then use a soft, fluffy blush to blend it out.

If you have issues with the texture of this concealer, take OCC’s advice and try mixing it with OCC Skin Primer. Skin Primer is very versatile too, since in addition to using it with Skin Conceal, you can use it as a face primer or eyeshadow primer.

Overall, OCC Skin Conceal is one of my all time favorite concealers. It’s cruelty free, vegan, super pigmented, and matches my skintone.
