Easter Mantel - Seasonal Sundays # 199

Easter is the most holy of days in the Christian faith and one which I observe, but I also very much enjoy the secular aspects of Easter. As my children have gotten older I had become a bit more hesitant to decorate for the season and continue with the traditions of dying eggs, hunting for eggs and Easter baskets. Much to my joy, I have recently learned that my children look forward to these events and traditions. While some years I decorate more for a given holiday than others, it has made me smile when one of my daughters would remark on why I hadn’t decorated much or at all for a particular holiday. It’s traditions, both religious and secular, that help bind our families together through all of the ups and downs of life. I hope that no matter where you are that you’re continuing some of your family’s traditions.

Happy Easter!
