How To: Braid-Wrapped Pony

Hey you! So how busy have you been lately? It's my busiest time of the year. I haven't had a lot of time to get ready, so quick hairstyles have been my fave. Today I'm sharing one with you that is easy and is only three steps. It's a fresh change on a regular pony and it can be dressed up, making it perfect for a holiday party. Plus, it uses some amazing and affordable products from Suave.

I'm going for some volume here, so I started by washing and conditioning my hair with the Natural Infusion Seaweed All Day Body Shampoo & Conditioner. They feature seaweed and lotus blossom and smell SO good.

While my hair is wet, I added some Suave Professionals Volumizing Mousse. I make sure to focus this mousse in the roots before using a hair dryer. This combo of the shampoo/conditioner and the mousse really give my pony that volume and fullness.

Once my hair is dry, I gathered it into a high ponytail, leaving a half-inch section out near the top. I generally use a hair elastic in a color closer to my hair color, but it doesn't matter since I'm going to hide with hair.

Next, I'll take that section that I didn't put in the pony and braid it. I did a traditional braid here but also love this with a fishtail braid.

I'll use the Touchable Finish Extra Hold Hairsprayto quickly spritz on the braid to give it some texture and hold after I braid it. I'll also use this hairspray to spray on my bobby pin before using to give it extra hold.

Simply wrap the braid around your hair elastic--it will cover it. Then use the bobby pin (I like small ones) to pin the braid into place.
