IMATS Roundup!

WARNING! PICTURE HEAVY POST!

This past weekend, I attended the International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS) in New York City!

I was very grateful to be a guest at Pro Night Friday with Jesse’s Girl! Jesse’s Girl had Julie G polish for miles, and a bunch of their other goodies. I looked at the nail polish but then every color I picked up….I already had it. Think I’m a fan much?! LOL. By the way, in this picture, you can totally see one of “Jesse’s Girls,” Jesse’s super sweet wife – she’s bent down in the pink top!

Friday was fun because I ended up walking the show floor with my blogger buddies Casey from Beauty 101 Blog and Niki from Hello Miss Niki!

The only picture I have from our night together?

I can’t believe we didn’t take a picture together, but I took a picture of my mudslide! LOL

Anyway. I had a blast with the girls!

First booth we hit up was Lime Crime. I have wanted to place an order with Lime Crime for a couple years now, but never pulled the trigger. Needless to say, it was my most expensive purchase of the show, because I got a little bit of everything I had wanted to try!

We watched as the Lime Crime team worked to finish setting up the colorful booth:

By the way, the booth on Saturday? WAS NUTS! Lime Crime reported on Instagram that the line wrapped not only inside the event space, but OUTSIDE on Sunday! And that people lined up at midnight Friday into Saturday to be first in line to shop with the brand! Holy cow! I’m so glad we made this our first stop – we were among the first 10 shoppers! Here’s a look at the booth on Saturday:

And as we waited our turn, I took some pictures of the pretty makeup I couldn’t wait to own, including eye shadow palettes, Velvetines, Carousel Gloss, and lipsticks!

I also approached Doe and asked for a picture. She’s adorable.

Another booth that was crazy Saturday was NYX Cosmetics. We were able to shop pretty freely Friday night, didn’t have to wait in line to check out. I love their lip products, and I picked up a couple of their new Primal Colors pressed pigments.

Another booth that gets swamped is Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Niki and I jumped right in there. I picked up one of the new Cosmetic Pencils, in Pool Boy, and two of the new Plastic Passion collection nail polishes!

We all stopped at Kryolan. I picked up a couple new goodies from the brand at IBS, so I didn’t buy anything. But I’m a HUGE fan of their eye shadow palettes, and lip products!!!

One of my favorite stops Friday night? Chatting with Melanie Mills, from Gleam by Melanie Mills. If you’ve never heard of Melanie, she is an Emmy-winning makeup artist who was head of makeup for “Dancing with the Stars” for five years!

Melanie told me that she needed a product that would give her dancers glow, work with spray tan (whether it was to compliment it or even it out), not come off on clothing, and stand up to sweating, dancing stars. She created Body Radiance, which is the star product of her line.

Body Radiance comes in four golden shades.

I picked up a small tube of the rose gold hue to try!

Also, Melanie was selling a new product, Radiant Dust:

The four dust containers in front are in shades that match the Body Radiance shades.

You can use the Body Radiance and Radiant Dust anywhere on the body, including face.

My first introduction to Gleam by Melanie Mills was actually one of her Lip Radiance glosses, which surprised me with its pigmentation. I can’t believe I resisted buying more!!! I tried it in the darkest purple hue, Unforgettable.

I do have a review coming on it eventually!

I asked Melanie for a picture and she grabbed some product, and grabbed me and we took a photo together!

She was awesome, and I can’t wait to give Body Radiance a whirl!

I own all but one of Sugarpill‘s beautiful eye shadow palettes, but I still loved stopping by and seeing all the pretty colors, lashes and brushes!

I love Sugarpill founder/owner Amy’s style, and I was a little star-struck when I saw her! I asked her for a picture together, and she was sweet enough to!

One of the other booths I hit Friday night was a brand new to me, My Beauty Addiciton (MBA).

MBA had lots of lippie options and I took advantage of some of the lipsticks and lip glosses, and also picked up a small lip scrub that has a beautiful sweet minty scent!

I also picked up some lippies at LA Splash Cosmetics.

The brand had its new Sinfully Luscious lipsticks, and I picked some up! The small range goes from nude to a dark blue and green.

I had to also take a picture of the LA Splash liners and mascara. I love the colors!

Finally, last brand I’ll profile in this roundup, is Glamorous Chicks Cosmetics! Their signature product is mineral pigments that can be used seven different ways, including eye shadow and lip gloss; it reminded me a bit of Naked Cosmetics.

The brand told me that Glamorous Chicks is all about makeup to help a woman feel glamorous. I picked up some of the pigments, can’t wait to give them a shot!

Always popular at the show is watching booths like Graftobian and Make Up For Ever Academy create artistry on bodies. Check this one out, from Graftobian:

Then there was this beautiful look on a booth worker for Dinair:

In addition to all of these fun new brand experiences, I also met some awesome bloggers and vloggers! It was nice to see Julie G and Samantha Reilly from Sammy’s Makeup Corner again! Sam is awesome. If you haven’t checked out her YouTube channel, she is so down-to-earth, you should!

I also met Jess from Love for Lacquer, Dani from Coffee Break with Dani, Tiffany Newcomb, and Stacy from Beauty Steals and Deals blog! It was awesome to meet all of them, and I’ve been checking out their YouTube channels and blogs. Well, Jess and I run in some of the same online circles so I was thrilled to actually meet her and give her a hug in person!!

I was also really happy for those other bloggers and vloggers who had fans at the show coming up and asking for pictures. I think Dani even gave out an autograph! I think that’s wonderful. We put so much time and love and passion into our outlets, that it’s such an awesome thing to see that appreciated! XO

So holy cow! This was a long roundup. And it’s not even all of what I saw. I had an amazing interview with Tat2U, and stopped by and picked up some of my Holy Grail brow gel from Serenity Scott; that entire team is becoming some of my favorite industry friends! So stay tuned. It will take weeks to get through all the coverage as I also work through some recent samples and reviews I have planned, but I’ll get there!
