New KBShimmer Nail Vinyl Decals and Stencils

Disclaimer: Press sample, see bottom.

KBShimmer introduced a new nail art tool when it introduced its Summer 2014 nail polish collection: Nail Vinyl Decals & Stencils.

There are six varieties, from lines and chevron print, to tribal and star prints.

I have a couple looks to share – and keep your eyes posted on my Instagram (@beautyjudy) to see the other three designs I don’t share here!

I used the Zig Zag Nail Vinyl Decals for this look:

I used Stark Raven Mad from the Early Summer Collection on thumb, middle, ring and pink fingers. I used She Twerks Out on my index finger, and applied the decals on middle and ring before painting two quick coats of She Twerks Out over them.

Application of these stencils was easy. Definitely follow the instructions that come with them (posted above). After my nail polish was dry (I used my best fast-dry top coat to help speed things up!), I made sure that the stencils were adhered to my nail bed securely so I wouldn’t have any gaps.

I quickly, but carefully, removed the stencils/decals before the nail polish could fully dry. I was pleased with the end result.

I only had one that was so stuck to my cuticle that it ripped, but that was user error.

Here’s a look I did using stars from the Stars and Stripes sheet:

Nothing too crazy! I added a couple stars for an accent finger over OPI My SIgnature is “DC”! I’ve almost got a patriotic mani here, just need to add some red somewhere!

I pressed the larger star into the nail polish, and I more lightly placed the smaller star. Both looked good.

The stars were pretty easy to lift off the sheet, but I would highly recommend fine pointed tweezers to minimize any scrunching or damage to the decal. I used Curved Tip Tweezers from The Creme Shop. I’d seriously be lost without these tweezers.

You can purchase the Nail Vinyl Decals & Stencils here on the KBShimmer website for $5 per sheet. Not bad. I definitely want to purchase more of the Zig Zag, Stars and Stripes, and try the Tribal Themed sheet!

What do you think of the new nail vinyl nail art trend? Are you excited KBShimmer is on board?! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
