Vanity Fair Party 2013 Best Dressed... MY GOODNESS there's lots!

Oh my God, never mind the Oscars red carpet, the Vanity Fair after party saw some of the best dresses of the season/year/century. From Giambattista Valli to Stephane Rolland couture (YAY), finally some of the dresses I've been DYING to see on a red carpet are shown off in all their glory.

It has left me thinking though, WHY OH WHY DIDN'T SOME OF THESE STARS WHERE THESE DRESSES TO THE ACTUAL OSCARS????

Actually a bit speechless right now, these dresses. THESE DRESSES...

***Kate Beckinsale in Monique Lhuillier*** I have to start with Kate because she is my ultimate girl crush. This is why I love award season, Kate comes out, all dressed up, looking like this. The rest of the year, she's grocery shopping. What a STUNNING dress. And straight from Lhuillier's most recent autumn/winter 2013 collection too. That means something. It means she's CHIC.

***The Bingbings - Fan and Li*** I thought Fan had excited us enough with her pink Marchesa dress from the Oscars, obviously not. This monochrome Oscar de la Renta gown is AH-MA-ZING. And friend (no relation apparently) Li, Gucci's brand ambassador, totally owned this turquoise trouser suit from the spring 2013 collection. What a pair!

***Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein*** See, her Oscars dress was a bit predictable for me. However, this sparkler was so unexpected! It's youthful, dramatic and GORGEOUS. She should have chosen this for the Oscars.

***Karolina Kurkova in Atelier Versace*** Yes, she's a model, and yes, the dress looks almost the same as it did on the catwalk, but it's still so nice to see it out and about, on a red carpet. Love the playfulness of it, look at that smile, it says it all!

***Anne Hathaway in Saint Laurent*** THIS should have been her Oscars dress. THIS IS THE ONE. It's still a very her aesthetic (i.e. a tad safe), but a million times better than nipple-gate Prada. Apparently Anne decided to wear the Prada dress three hours before her appearance on the red carpet. This should have been the one she changed too.

***Kristen Chenoweth in Giorgio Armani*** She's a little red carpet dynamo, and in this uber romantic dress, she looks the best she has done for a long time. Not that she ever looks bad, but she did choose a rather spangly dress for the Oscars. This one is miles better if you ask me!

***Diane Kruger in Giambattista Valli couture*** Another dress I was dying to see on the red carpet, thank you Diane. It's got a really gorgeous cape back, that you can just about make out here. I love love love this shape. She looks tres chic.

***Irina Shayk in Stephane Rolland couture*** Irina who? It doesn't matter who she is (Russian model), it's this dress that matters. THIS DRESS! You may know that Stephane Rolland is one of my all time favourite designers, thank GOD someone wore one of his amazing designs this award season. JUST PURE WOW.

***Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Andrew Gn*** I'm in LOVE with this dress. It's not sparkly or glitzy, so I know it's a surprise I love it so much, but the monochrome, the pockets and this new shape - a big, bell, full skirt - is really ticking all the boxes for me. Well done Mary, you look stunning.

***Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta*** Oooo she's done well, our Amy. What a corker... floor length, fringed, perfection.

***Naomi Watts in Emilio Pucci*** From a gorgeous sci-fi-ish Armani Prive gown, to this contouring, black and gold goddess gown, Naomi is my new one to watch. WOW.

***Jane Fonda in Reem Acra*** One last one, and to finish on Jane Fonda leaves me smiling. Another FAB dress from the 75-year-old. Age appropriate, sexy and shows off that amazing body. She's at the top of the red carpet game!
