(Outfit Diary) Effortless Airport Style

I am guilty of seriously overthinking... everything. At the end of last week I was pretty sure that I wanted to redo my blog layout yet again, or maybe even shut it down entirely, and possibly also quit my job to join the circus. Don't panic - I'm not going to do any of those things. The overthinking is just a sign that I'm getting overwhelmed; trying to do too many things at once and under pressure is has never been a recipe for success for me, which is why it was so wonderful to be able to take a break from my routine over the weekend by going home for a visit. Pressing the reset button on your own life is so essential sometimes. And for me, that meant indulging in a bit more of my mom's baking than was strictly neccessary, treating myself to some new books and magazines and basically living in my beloved Madewell boyfriend jeans all weekend long. As much as I love the idea of glamourous travel style, I want to be comfortable when I go on a flight. But comfort and style aren't mutually exclusive - for me, the best travel style is the simplest and most effortless. Just grab your favourite basics and you're good to go!

What the Water Gave Me - Florence The Machine
Je me culpabilise... je réfléchis trop à tout. Vers la fin de la semaine passée, je songeais à l'idée de faire un autre relooking de mon blog, ou bien de le fermer complètement, et aussi à démissionner de mon boulot afin de faire je ne sais pas trop quoi. Pas de panique - je n'ai rien fait du tout. Si je commence à trop réfléchir, c'est que je deviens accablé; histoire d'essayer de trop accomplir sans vraiment avoir le temps d'en achever la moitié. Un petit week-end loin de Vancouver chez mes parents, c'est exactement ce dont j'avais vraiment besoin; ça m'a un peu servi d'un reset figuré de ma vie. Comment remettre sa vie dans un seul week-end ? Pour moi, ce fut une combinaison beaucoup de gâteaux fait maison par ma maman, quelques nouveaux romans et revues et ne mettre quasiment rien sauf mon bien-aimé jean boyfriend Madewell pendant trois jours. Bien que l'idée de voyager glamour me tente, en réalité, c'est surtout le confort qui influence mes choix de tenue avant de partir en avion. Ceci dit, le confort et la mode ne sont pas incompatibles - mes meilleurs looks de voyage consistent de mes basics préférés !
