With his first solo release, Carli stakes his own claim for club night glory with the ecstatic ‘Look Up’. Channeling classic 90s house music, complete with fiery female vocals and soaring piano lines, ‘Look Up’ finds Carli cleverly updating this seemingly worn out sound through the realms of EDM. It may sound like a sickly combination but Carli proves his artistic mettle with an arrangement that sits comfortably between the old and the new. ‘Look Up’ may sound like the bizarre lovechild of The Prodigy and Skrillex if they were to produce a modern-day Gina G, but it is all the more bonkers and brilliant for this very reason.
