Josep Pla

A little while ago I illustrated this wonderful book, written by Josep Pla.

The writer Josep Pla (1897-1981) lived and worked in Catalunya, Spain. By the end of his life he looked back at all the food he had eaten and wrote a fantastic book about it. It’s not only a reference guide for Catalan food, its a book about life itself. And not at all old fashioned, Pla writes with a lot of humor about food & life in a timeless manner. Many issues are just as actual now as that they where many many years ago, apparently.

I made little drawings to introduce every episode, here are a couple of them, except for the beautiful painting on the cover of course: that was painted by Miro.
