Oh oh, Italy

Italy is one of my favorite European countries. I'm attracted to the language, the habits of the people, the food, the beauty of the country, and .. the men. However, this post isn't about my love for the Mediterranean men, it's about food. It's about Italian food, to be precise. I love pure food that's good for your body and that's produced with great care, so if I'm talking about Italian food, I'm talking about food that's made of delicious organic products. I recently received a box with products from the best organic farm of Italy - Fattoria la Vialla - and I thought you might be interested in a little introduction to these organic products so that's why I created this post.

The jars and bottles with the handwritten font on the label are from the farm that I mentioned above (the "Fattoria"). The sauces are made with extravirgin olive oil, which is super healthy due to its high antioxidant content. The tomato sauce and the pesto also contain garlic, which prevents colds, treats hair loss and acne (if you're suffering from this), to name a few of its benefits for your health. In addition, because of the length of the cooking time of the tomatoes in the tomato sauce, it contains a high amount of lycopene, which prevents against cancer. For your information: the lycopene content in tomatoes increases if they are boiled. However, besides all these benefits for your wellbeing, the products have got that authentic taste which is absolutely delicious. They are also very versatile since there are many different ways to include them into your dishes.

The most obvious way to use the pesto is in the quick and simple dish 'pesto pasta'. I love to have my pasta cold, but I'm aware of the fact that I'm a rare exception in this. Therefore, the (vegetarian) recipe that I'll describe now is intended to eat warm. But be my guest if you want to have it cold too, haha. OK, so how do you create this dish? It's so simple that it's genious. Stir the pesto into the pasta, sprinkle some olive oil and lemon juice on it, and decorate your meal with pine nuts, some rocket leaves, parmesan, and salt and pepper, if you prefer. I didn't exaggerate when I told you it was easy, huh? Personally, I'd add some fish like salmon, cod, or shrimps to this original recipe, but that's up to you of course. The pesto is also useful when making a sandwich: it's heavenly in combination with mozzarella and tomato!

It's possible to extend this post with tons of recipes that make use of these authentic products, but since this is the first food-related post I keep things a little short and wait for your opinion about it. If you love seeing more recipes on the blog, just send me an e-mail or leave a comment in the comment section below so that I can meet your demands in future posts!
