I am so late on this whole "blog everyday in May thing," but I'm still going to jump in and join when I can. And right now is one of those times because I'm procrastinating studying for an exam I have Friday morning and am instead drinking wine with one hand and spooning ice cream into my mouth with the other. No joke.
But anyway, I wanted to share a piece of advice for today's topic that I've been speaking over myself these past few weeks: holding onto hope, specifically when you have nothing left to hold onto. I came across a scripture a few weeks ago that tugged at my heart and never let go.
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)
The scripture is absolutely fantastic, but here's where it gets good. If you look up the definition of hope, you'll find a plethora of definitions all centering around one central theme:
confident expectation. And the cool thing about it, if you trace that scripture back to the Greek you'll find the word 'elpidos,' which literally translates to hope, confidence, trust, expectation.
