Introducing: AYR

Earlier this year, I was thinking hard about the idea of designing a small capsule collection ~ the perfect harem pants, an ideal white blouse, a great classic sweater, that sort of thing. But having started my career as a clothing designer, I well know what a challenging business it is, and I recognize I just don’t have enough time or manpower right now. Maybe someday, but until then I’m pleased to have discovered AYR, a new brand founded by Maggie Winter and Jacqueline Cameron, two former heavies from JCrew and Madewell. They’ve created the perfectly simple little line of elevated basics, ticking everything I wanted but until now couldn’t quite find off my list and saving me the headache of having to start a whole new business. Thanks guys. The clothes are cleverly designed but deceptively sleek. Also, super-stretch high-waisted black skinny jeans with disappearing black hardware just rocked my world. I was ready for a good game changer, and their site is officially my new go-to.
