Claudia Louch Botanical Firming Toner

You know when Caroline Hirons tells you to invest in two toners, one acidic and one hydrating/calming one, this would be a perfect candidate for the latter. Acidic toners are meant to contain glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid and all that acidic jazz to give a kick start to sluggish skin. Although skin renewing, they do tamper with the skins PH levels temporarily, where it can go up and will take around 30 minutes to return back to normal.
During this, your calming/hydrating toner will make an appearance. It's purpose is to help skin's PH return back to normal in a matter of seconds. Containing no alcohol at all, this baby is packed with aloe vera, green tea, cucumber and other such skin quenching botanicals which your skin will drink up like crazy. I found this particularly useful for sensitive/blemish prone skin which needs some help in the calming department. Aloe Vera is a foolproof calming agent and we all know that and so is green tea which is packed with anti-oxidants and anti-bacterial ingredients.
On application, the toner is an extremely thin liquid that feels lovely to slather on to the skin. It helps that is smells quite nice and calming! I found that it dried up quickly and had a nice tightening effect as well, making it a must-have for mature skin. It's so gentle I can take it up around the eye area and there won't be any signs of irritation at all. It reminds me something I had tried from Liz Earle a few years back but just better. If you're obsessed with toners like myself, you need to check this one out.
